Jarrett Way

State of the Chapter

Since summer 2014, Epsilon Delta has been hard at work. The current active chapter is at 92 men. In November, they elected a new Executive Council, led by President Jarrett Way (Epsilon Delta, ’13). Main efforts are focused on scholarship and philanthropy. They have developed a new scholarship program with the help of Faculty Advisor Dr. Scott Belshaw that was passed by the active chapter. This program will benefit at-risk actives as well as all new members. Additionally, Epsilon Delta is having their first annual Fireman’s Challenge, the premier philanthropic event put on by many Smythe Award winning chapters.

Epsilon Delta recruited 9 men into their Xi pledge class this spring, tying them for second in recruitment. The Xi class recently raised over $800 on their Teeter-Totter event for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Three men represented Epsilon Delta at the Chapter Executives Conference in January, and 9 men attended the Pike University Dallas Leadership Summit where brothers Savath Lieng and Matt O’Hara received their Gold Certifications, and brother Jarrett Way received his Garnet Certification.

UNT also recently had their Greek Awards recognizing achievements from 2014 as well as Greek Week 2015 (Epsilon Delta was paired with Delta Gamma, making up Team Rho), where Epsilon Delta was awarded the following:

  • Team Rho 1st in Instagram
  • Team Rho 1st in Takeover
  • Team Rho 2nd in Dance
  • Team Rho 1st in Banner
  • Team Rho Greek Week Champions
  • Jeff Carrington Advisor of the Year
  • 2014 Chapter Progress Award
  • Damian Torres Supporter of the Year

The members are still very prominent on campus, filling a variety of leadership roles. In fact, Chris Lee (Epsilon Delta, ’14) is currently running for Student Government Association Vice-President.

The active chapter is proud of its accomplishments over the past year, and we hope the alumni can look at these achievements and share in that pride. We’re looking forward to seeing many alumni at upcoming and future alumni/brotherhood events.
